Instructions to add Affiliate:
These instructions are our own interpretation of the
written instructions available with our classified program.
STEP 1
First you need to go to our FREE
CLASSIFIEDS and registed as a user. Click on MyProfile, and choose
Register for an account.
When you are registered, and have you username and password you are
ready to Join the Affiliate Program.
STEP 2
Now you go to the FREE
CLASSIFIEDS page, you can choose the "Join
Affiliates Program"
You are then directed to go to the Sign up form, where you enter you
user name and password. After you have logged in, you will have to fill
out a form. Here are some simplified explainations:
Short Name - any one word you want. We suggest you use a short
name for your site.
Example:
Website: lonestarwebsitedesign.com
Short Name: lonestarweb
Long name - is the name of your web site.
Example:
Long name: lonestarwebwebsitedesign
Email address - your e-mail address
Notify of New, Modified, Deleted Ads - this depends on how involved
you want to be in the classified program. If you check the boxes, you
will be informed by e-mail whenever any of these changes are made.
Send Reply to Users - this is good since it gives the user some
contact from your site and it is automatic. (We recommend checking this
box)
Ads Name - We recommend you type Classified here.
Site Name - put in your web address with out the www.
Example:
Site Name: lonestarwebsitedesign.com
Administrator's Name - Your name
Administrator's Title - Your title
URL of Web Site - the complete URL of your site. This is the
address that will be used to link back to your page from the classifieds.
If your site uses frames, you should use the URL linking to the main
frame.
Example:
http://www.lonestarwebsitedesign.com
Page with frames:
http://www.lonestarwebsitedesign.com/main.htm
Slogan - type your slogan here
STEP 3
When you have created a new Affiliate, you will be sent an e-mail to
confirm this. You will also get a screen telling you that the Affiliate
was successfully created. Near the bottom, you will see a long URL.
This is the address for you CLASSIFIEDS. Use this URL on your website
to set up the link to your classifieds page.
VERY IMPORTANT: The URL you will receive
may look similar to this example:
http://bikerlink.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/classifieds.cgi?website=yourname&language=&session_key=3b28ba25300e9f04
However, when you add the link to your classifieds page, you must change
the URL by deleting everything after the = sign which appears after
the word language. See the example below:
http://bikerlink.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/classifieds.cgi?website=yourname&language=
If you don't do this, users will be unable to place ads.
STEP 4
Editing your Classifieds Page (You must first set up your Template).
The Template is the editable part of your classifieds page at the top
and bottom, where the logo goes. You may add text, like you slogan,
or company name here. Unless you edit this Template, it will default
to the Bikerlink.com Template.
- Now when you go to your classified Page, you can go to "MyProfile"
and edit your templete.
- First choose "Template Editer"
- Next choose Affiliate to Modify.
- Select your site (By clicking in the little circle next to it's
name, and click the "Continue".
- Choose "Create Template"
for the Default section. (After you have created this template, and you want to
go back and edit it, the "Edit Template" option will be accesible to
you.)

- You are now in the Template Editor. There are instructions to help
you along here. But if you still have difficulty, please CONTACT
US and we will help you.
- Select a Templete from the drop down menu, we recommend "Standard"
- Press the "Preview Template" button to see what your template
will look like.
- When you are happy with your template, do no forget to press "Save
Template".
- To remove the e-Classifieds logo, and replace it with your own,
locate the code :
